Milwaukee Ronald McDonald House volunteers give their time and talents to provide a home-away-from-home for families with children receiving medical treatment.

House Volunteer Opportunities

Duties
House volunteers perform a variety of office and light housekeeping duties. Volunteers do not babysit or act as counselors or social workers.

Requirements

  • Men or women 18 years or older
  • In general good health
  • Able to accept supervision
  • Flexible and willing to perform all volunteer duties
  • Dependable
  • One-year commitment to a minimum of one three-hour shift every other week
  • Pass a background check

Training
Applicants will be interviewed by the Volunteer Manager. Volunteer training takes place several times a year. Only trained volunteers will be assigned.

Shift Schedules
Shifts are scheduled from:
9 a.m. to noon
Noon to 3 p.m.
3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Hospitality
Hospitality is the Ronald McDonald House volunteer's main function. Making a difficult time in an unfamiliar place as normal as possible is the goal of the staff and volunteers. Our House is available to families 365 days a year.
