Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for families of seriously ill or injured children. Since our doors opened in 1984, more than 33,000 families have called the Ronald McDonald House in Milwaukee home.  In 2011 alone, we served more than 1,400 families. We have been at full occupancy with our 38 guest rooms—often with a wait list of anywhere from five to twenty families each day.

Last year, we had to turn 806 families away – the most ever!

We offer a place to call home at little or no cost so families can stay together which helps their child heal faster. Many families try to contribute what they can—even if it’s the suggested $10 a night donation. In reality, our cost is more than $100 per night.

No one is ever turned away for their ability to pay

The Ronald McDonald House is more than a place to stay; it is place for our families to flourish, to reach out to one another and offer comfort and support.  Over 500 volunteers support the Ronald McDonald House offering their greatest gifts of time, talent, compassion and heart.

Families enjoy private rooms, family meals, art and dog therapy programs, music, wellness programs, a chapel and beautiful Secret Garden. Most importantly, our House offers the emotional support and friendship of other families facing very similar situations.
